Look What We Did

Hello friends, okay, so this post is a bit of look what we did and Saturday sharing. Two, two, two topics in one. Please tell me you remember the certs commercial where it was two, two, two mints in one. As you may know, my wonderful Mother has been staying with us. She is a loving soul who isn’t afraid to tell it like it is, and she has the sweetest British / American combo accent. I asked her about her hairstyle, or dare I say, lack thereof. She mentioned her hair had changed and won’t hold a curl or a perm. Don’t you just love that aging even messes with your hair, ugh… But, I digress. She wasn’t particularly happy with her current look so I suggested we go to a salon and both get a little change and look what we did!

and look what my Mum did! Lovely, right? Seriously such a cutie, I swear it took years off of her too.

She likes her new do and although it takes a few extra minutes to style there are no complaints.

This month is moving along at a rapid pace. I have a lot to do and little time to do it, did I hear an amen?

We are hosting an early Thanksgiving dinner and celebrating birthdays today. If you missed the Thanks-a-birthday post you can see it here .

Unfortunately a few will be missing from the table, our oldest granddaughter and her sweetie have a tummy bug and our son in law is working.  We will make up wonderful platters for them to enjoy when they are feeling better.

I’ve found that setting the table the night before is a real time saver.

I also make the stuffing one day prior and just pop it into the microwave before dinner is served. It always tastes better the next day anyway, doesn’t it?

You can find my migraine safe stuffing recipe below. Sorry, it’s not formatted etc. you can right click to copy or print. As with any recipe I share, please review the ingredients to make sure they meet your dietary restrictions and are free of triggers or allergens.

My Stove Top Stuffing ( no onions, dairy free)
4 ½ Cups toasted and cooled bread cubes
3 Tbsp dairy free margarine
1-2 Stalk celery chopped
1 Can mushroom (4oz.)
2 Cloves garlic (minced)
1-2 Tbsp. parsley
1 tsp. White pepper
1 tsp. Katherines Everything Seasoning
1 Cup chicken broth (I make mine a couple of days ahead)

In a large pot over medium heat sauté garlic and celery in margarine (about 5 minutes or until soft). Add parsley, herbs, and pepper, mix well. Add broth and bring to a boil. Add bread cubes and mix gently using a fork to fluff. Cover and let sit for about five minutes, that’s it!
