Does anyone else have bunnies on the brain? Easter is on its way and with it comes not only our wonderful Christian celebrationbut also whimsical bunny and “bunny-related” fun. I concentrated on the bunny last week so today it’s bunny food, with this easy felt carrots craft.
WHAT YOU NEED for one carrot- 1 template, 1 piece of orange felt, 1 piece of green felt, sewing needle, orange and green thread, pencil, scissors, straight pins, rubber bands, elastic, or hair ties, polyfill or cotton balls.
Let’s Make It!
Cut out the template, fold the orange felt in half, pin template in place and cut, this will make two, triangles. Put them together, then sew the edges ( I’m using white thread so you can see the stitching) leave the top open.
Turn inside out, using the eraser end of a pencil push the end of the carrot out, not to a point just rounded, add polyfill, or cotton balls leaving about 1.5 inches at the top.
Tie a rubber band, elastic or hair tie ( we didn’t have any rubber bands) at the top of the carrot where your filling ends. Cut the green felt for the top.
Place the carrot onto the green felt and stitch the green top to itself and the carrot top and then fluff! Now it’s time for your ta daa moment!
If you are feeling fancy, and I often do, add some cute embellishments with your hot glue gun or simply tie a bow.
my ta daa moment!
