Hopefully, everyone is starting to thaw out from winter’s grip. Here in Asia I don’t see much cold weather…it’s just warm, warmer, hot and blazing. But, I remember springtime in the Mid-West. The parks and sidewalks would be filled with smiling people.
It’s also time to shift our wardrobes from boots and sweaters to our “happy” clothes. Cropped pants are a staple for any warm-weather wardrobe, but they can easily go wrong. So today, I thought I’d share some tips for wearing cropped pants in a flattering way.

Cropped pants often get a bad rap because…they’re cropped. This means they can potentially make you look cropped as well. But, on the flip side, cropped pants provide coverage without the heat of long pants.
Usually, cropped pants fall into the following styles: capris, clam diggers, gauchos, boyfriend jeans and cargo pants. Generally speaking, longer capris or boyfriend jeans are the easiest to pull off when it comes to proportion.
Here are a couple of tips to remember when shopping for cropped pants.
Tip #1
Look for pant legs that are slightly tapered or straight at the bottom, rather than those that flare out in a bell shape.
Tip #2
Stay away from styles that are wide at the bottom; especially if you are on the shorter side.

Tip #3
Try to find pants that end at the narrowest part of your leg. This means that your cropped pants should end about three to four inches above the ankle.

But, I don’t want to leave you thinking that this whole fashion thing is all that and a bag of chips. Unlike the common saying, I don’t believe that clothes make the girl. To the contrary, they can only enhance what’s already there in the first place.

So, if you really want to put on something that will fit well and take you wherever you want to go, try seeking God’s peace. Colossians 3:15 reminds us,

There’s nothing quite like experiencing God’s peace. It will keep you cooler than any pair of pants can!
