Do More of What Makes You Happy
You’ve probably seen “Do More of What Makes You Happy” on a cute plaque somewhere. We have to pay the bills, and we can’t do that when what makes us happy is making balloon animals. Do you make balloon animals? I’d like to learn how to make them one day…..sorry…squirrel…. I drifted. I’m back now (smile)
I worked for other people for over 35 years. Although I worked with some great people and enjoyed my job for the most part. It was not even close to “Doing What Makes Me Happy.” I just did my best at my job, came home, took off my bra and collapsed. Ahhh, you know that feeling right? Sorry to the few sweet guys who read my blog, skip quickly onto the next paragraph.
So when “Do More of What Makes You Happy”, sounds more like a quote or cross-stitch pillow cover, is it realistic to say, ” Do More of What Makes You Happy?” I say yes! Make the time to do whatever it is that you love doing, whatever makes you happy, and do it now! If you wait too long to do more of what you enjoy, it floats out of reach quickly. Yes, I know its hard to find time to do something for yourself, something that makes you happy, something that isn’t being a mom, grandma, wife, husband, etc. It can be a challenge. But, it’s a challenge you can meet. I have confidence in you.
I love writing and sharing with you, I love making things for my shops, Keepsakes by Katherine and Zen Spirit Malas, it really makes me happy. It is truly me, and I am doing more of what makes me happy every day.
Please don’t put it off, time is fleeting my friends and when you get to my age you want to know you spent time doing what made you happy. I’m talking about “Me Time”, your happy place. Glitter in your hair, wood shavings on the floor, dancing around the house in ballet shoes, working in the garden, heating up the glue gun, baking cakes, bedazzling pages, and pages of your scrapbook. Do what makes you happy and then do more of it!
I discovered my friend KariAnne’s sweet smile on the pages of Home Style Magazine (the Small Space Issue) the other day. I had no idea there was an article about her in the magazine. She never mentioned it. She is a great example of “Doing More of What Makes You Happy”. She writes an award-winning blog, Thistlewood Farms and she is the author of several books. She is the living embodiment of the phrase, “Doing More of What Makes You Happy. ” I’ve been right there cheering her on since we started our blogs years ago.
My Darling friend Marla, Marla Martenson a successful Millionaire Matchmaker and Bestselling book author, found what she loves and she is doing more of what makes her happy as she shifts focus towards enlightenment. She is a bright light and it is a joy to call her my friend.
How can you Do More of What Makes You Happy? What makes you happy?

I love that “do more of what makes you happy”!! As we get older, we definitely have regrets over the things we didn’t do…way more than what we did!!
Aw, love this sweet message here today and thanks for the reminder to do more of what makes us happy daily. Hugs and Happy Tuesday!! <3 xoxo
Awww, so sweet of you to highlight me! Yes, I left my J.O.B working for someone else who told me how to dress and wear my hair. I am so thrilled to be celebrating my 10 year milestone of working for myself in my yoga pants with my hair in a ponytail. I love matchmaking, writing and coaching, and now have added love readings with oracle cards to the mix. I just keep adding what makes me happy. And your friendship totally makes me smile Katherine, AKA the Ethel to my Lucy. xoxoxox
