Glimmer of Gold Christmas Tablescape
Welcome friends, it is my absolute pleasure to be part of Chloe’s ( Celebrate and Decorate) Christmas Tablescape blog hop. She has organized tablescape hops throughout the year, and it is an honor to be included with so many talented tablescape bloggers. It’s a lot of work to organize and keep everything moving beautifully, and she has done an amazing job. I hope you will join me in saying thank you for all she did to make these wonderful hops so much fun. Thank you, Chloe! My Glimmer of Gold Christmas tablescape was a joy to create. Thank you for hopping over from Monday’s link, Corner of Plaid and Paisley.
My Hubby bought me this beautiful angel about 18 years ago. Her wings are tattered, her dress has yellowed and she is like most of us, perfectly imperfect. Although I intend to give her a complete refresh for next Christmas I wanted to use “her” just as she is for the center of my Glimmer of Gold Christmas Tablescape.
I took this long photo of the tablescape just before twilight.
My supervisor Izzy is always close by, I think he was dreading going out in the snow to do his business. He doesn’t like snowballs on his undercarriage ( wink). Hubby cleared a “potty path” for him. But sometimes a guy just has to go off of the beaten path and into the frozen tundra.
As the snow blew and the sun began to set the amber glow from our dining room brings an amazing color of glimmering gold to the table.
I spilled golden beads across the table and built my tablescape from there. The table runner has beads and sequined embroidered snowflakes. I think it came from Ross a few years ago.
We’ve had these reindeer for many years, I bought them at Macy’s. The victorian angels came from a local French shop, Le Gaden de Rêves. It’s gone now, but I loved stopping in there every chance I could.
I added a little bit of gold on the buffet (it’s been changed now) for some background color.
The iridescent snowflake placemat, a gold charger, and Corelle dishware make a lovely setting.
The wine glasses were a dollar store find and the napkin rings are from Bed Bath and Beyond. I think they have the same ones out every year.
The gold embroidered blessed napkins are from Nordstrom rack. I love the look of embroidery, I wish I had the time to do it.
I added little gold tassels to the wine glasses and the joy sign from Michaels on the opposite side of the angel.
The only purchase I made was at the dollar store for the wine glasses. Our stemware is all in pairs.
I hope you have enjoyed my Glimmer of Gold Christmas Tablescape. I invite you to continue the tour to Panoply and please come back on Friday and see them all.

Katherine, you centerpiece, especially your gorgeous Angel is the star of this show. I love that you used her tattered and all. How nice that you plan to give her a makeover and keep her with all the memories. Your table is so elegant and I can picture a nice family dinner enjoying the festive ambiance you have created. It is always a pleasure to Hop with you. Happy Christmas season!
Wowza Katherine. Your tablescape is gorgeous. So elegant and inviting. I’d love to sit there.
I love the story behind your sweet angel and that she is perfectly imperfect! All your gold touches are so beautiful and look amazing! Fun to hop with you! Happy Holidays!
Katherine, I love gold at Christmas and your table glimmers with all of your pretty gold accents. The reindeer are my favorite…so regal and sophisticated! The snowflake embroidered runner is lovely, and the white poinsettias in the soup bowls is a nice touch. It’s been fun hopping with you. Merry Christmas!
Izzy almost looks like he is just enjoying the view here but we can’t see the look on his face 🙂 My male loves the snow – and the cold! Crazy guy wanted to stay out and play when it was -15 last year, I had to pick him up (all 55 pounds of him) and carry him in. My female will be new to the snow when we get it. Both dogs are rescues but we got her this summer and him last summer. They are both originally from the south.
Your tablescape is absolutely gorgeous!
Katherine, your place settings are elegant and basic, letting your amazing centerpiece take center stage! Your elegant golden angel and those ornate golden reindeer steal the show at your golden table! Thank you so much for joining in all of our hops through the year! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Katherine, what a stunning centerpiece with your beautiful angel and deer decor items. A very festive table! And, easily transitioned to New Years with all the gold details.
What a beautiful table, Katherine! Your plate stack is gorgeous, beginning with the delicate snowflake placemats. I love how the smallest details catch the light and glimmer and shine. Lovely job – Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Gorgeous tablesetting, Katherine. Happy Holidays!
I love all the gold elements, Katherine. Very dressy and makes you want to be on your best behavior for a festive evening.
Your table is beautiful. I love the angel and all of her oldness and the reindeer are beautiful as well.
Your Glimmer of Gold table is beautiful and there are so many elegant details. I love the embroidery on the napkins and the timeless napkin rings and the gold beads that look like they were made for this setting. Corelle dinnerware is so versatile and you’ve given it an upgrade with this table. Merry Christmas and many blessings!
Katherine, I adore all things sparkly and elegant for the holidays, so I love your glimmer of gold theme! Have a beautiful Christmas season! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
Beautiful Katherine. While I really love the whole table, it is that little embroidered detail in the napkin that stole my heart. Your centerpiece of golden angels and reindeer is stunning. The addition of the single poinsettia bloom in each bowl really adds a nice touch!
What a beautiful table! The gold makes it so festive and I love the angel centerpiece. I also enjoyed seeing sweet Izzy looking out the window! Have a great week!

I think it works just great. Everything around it is as gold.
It’s just beautiful Katherine and the golden glow is amazing!! The angels are stunning, such an outstanding centerpiece and runner of gold! I love the white poinsettias in the soup bowls, such a nice surprise for the eyes! The embroidered napkins and lacy platemats are lovely. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and that Izzy gets used to the snow!

Katie, I love your glimmer of gold tablescape. The angels and deer make for a lovely centerpiece with the gold beads and pretty table runner. Your plate stack is the perfect addition along with your embroidered napkins. How smart to find the stemware at the dollar store. It is always fun blog hopping with you my friend. Wishing you a most joyous Christmas season!
Hello Katherine. I love your golden table. The angel is so pretty and such a wonderful treasure from your husband. The napkins look so lovely with their embroidered edges. I don’t have the patience for things like that. The tassels are a ,lovely addition. The Joy sign is perfect on your golden table. Always a pleasure to join you.
I adore your beautiful angel your husband gave you and love it just as you described it. The older I get I like things more that are not perfect. The other angels from the french shop are gorgeous also. Too bad the shop is no longer there. It sounds like my kind of boutique. Sadly, the unique shops are disappearing rapidly.
Your table is so lovely and you captured it at a most magical time of day! Love seeing your sweet dog.
I’m off to pull out my gold beads! They looks so pretty on your elegant table runner.
Thank you for expressing so well my shared feelings about Chloe and all she has done for the blog hops.
Katherine, your gold glitter tablescape is rich and elegant and I love that you used your beautiful vintage angel as your centerpiece. She is perfect just the way she is. For eighteen years she has been looking over you and your family so she is bound to show signs of having worked hard doing so. The beads and reindeer are a lovely complement to your table too. If there are tablescapes in heaven, this would be the one! Have a great holiday season.
Katherine, your glimmer of gold looks to be an extension of the natural wonderland outside! Very pretty details with use of the angel, beaded runner and the napkins (my favorite!). I love Corelle ware, it is so incredibly light and utilitarian, and yes, it makes a perfect underpinning for the glimmer of gold. Merry December to you!
Katherine, your opulent table is so pretty with your beautiful angels looking over everyone around the table. Everyone needs an angel watching over them! I love the ornate antlers on your gold reindeer. I also love when someone sets such a beautiful table and then you find out that there is something from the dollar store on a table that looks so rich and fabulous! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
Katherine, Your angel is even more precious with her tattered wings and she’s perfect as a centerpiece for your glimmer of gold table! So many pretty details from the golden reindeer, embroidered napkins, Victorian angels and beads. As always it’s a treat to join you at the table and blog hop with you. Merry December ♥
Gorgeous tablescape and thanks for sharing with us here today, Katie!! Hugs xoxo <3
