All Wrapped Up
Christmas is almost here, are you ready? if you haven’t done your wrapping yet, I have a few tips I use for getting things ALL Wrapped Up. Originally I thought I would write a gift wrapping tips blog post and complimenting video. But, oh my goodness, there are a plethora of gift wrapping videos, blog posts, bow making videos, etc. thousands maybe ( I still get to use the word plethora though).. wink. So instead I’m sharing some of my tips for gift wrapping.
Tip #1
Do you have rolls of wrapping paper leftover, do you put a little piece of tape on the roll to keep it from unrolling? I see a lot of you nodding your heads. I have a simple way to keep from having to tear the paper when you are ready to unroll ( where the tape is) to use it again. Cut a “sleeve” to keep your gift wrapping paper from unrolling. Cut a strip from your gift wrapping scraps long enough to wrap around the gift wrapping tube and tape the ends of the sleeve together. No tears and no wasted paper.
Tip #2
Don’t try and wrap odd-shaped gifts with holiday paper. Have you ever seen a basketball or golf club wrapped with holiday paper? It is always a nightmare for the wrapper (but a big giggle for the gift recipient). I applaud your effort, but leave the frustration behind and put those odd-shaped gifts in square boxes or make a box by cutting a couple of boxes and taping them together.
Tip #3
If you are wrapping gifts for a large group or family and putting them all under the same tree, I always use a different wrapping paper pattern for each person. Each of our five grandchildren receives 3 gifts each ( want need and surprise). For instance, Noah’s wrapping paper has the car carrying the tree and Savannah has a Joy ornament. You can also add buttons or brooches to embellish the package, it also gives them another gift!
Tip #4
If I don’t plan to tag and ribbon the gifts straight away I just write their name on a scrap of the gift wrapping paper I used for each person’s gifts.
Tip #5
Teenagers love gift cards, and Michaels has 3 fun and creative ways for getting all wrapped up.
