Be a Writer
Hello friends, ever since reading to my pink teddy bear I have known I wanted to be a writer. Yes, It’s been that long ( smile). Everything I ever did growing up ended with me saying, “I’m going to be a writer one day”.
Life happens, we grow up, some of us marry, and have babies and we change a little at a time to suit our circumstances. But, let me say this…not once did I ever say, I wanted to work in gastroenterology or manage someone else’s business. Not once. I have always wanted to be a writer.
But, when life and responsibilities happen, it doesn’t mean you should stop your “When I Grow Up ” lifelong goal, dare I even say, a lifelong dream. It just means it may be postponed a bit.
On various occasions, my hubby, mother, daughter, and friends have all told me I may not have written a book, but I am a writer. A published writer! Right here at Katherines Corner. I guess it’s true. Blogging allows me to share with people from all over the world. Thank you for subscribing and for reading, you are helping my dream to come true. xo
Are you doing what you wanted to do all of your life?

Katherine, I love this post! I can totally relate to everything you wrote. I remember when I was kid, every school year the teachers would ask that question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” And all throughout my childhood, my answer involved writing. I went from poet to journalist to author to editor and pretty much any other writing type of career you could think of. And here I am now, also a published writer on my blog and on other platforms as well. I have never written a book either (I would love to but it still overwhelms me enough to freeze me at the starting line), but I am still a writer. Stephen King once said, “If you wrote something for which someone sent you a check, if you cashed the check and it didn’t bounce, and if you then paid the light bill with the money, I consider you talented.” Those are words I live by ever since I received my first amount of money for writing something! And if Stephen King says I’m a talented writer, then who the heck am I to argue?! Hahaha I look forward to your new series! That is write up my alley! (See what I did there? I also love a good pun!)

This sounds like an exciting new series, Katie! I look forward to reading it!
Aw, can’t wait for your new series and yes you are indeed a writer. Hugs xoxo <3
Absolutely, you are a writer! I wanted to be a writer when I was young, too. I wanted to be so many things, which was part of my problem. I couldn’t decide! I wanted to be an art teacher too. So, I guess, in some ways, I am being both a writer and an art teacher with my blog. I wanted to work with children, and I’ve gotten to do that as a reading tutor. I’m excited for your series! xo
I’m so excited for the Tell me A Story series! And yes, you ARE a writer. xo
Hi Katherine,
I am honored to be included in your upcoming event “Tell Me a Story”. You are so very generous. I’m eager to know the other authors and to read their story.
Hugs,
Cynthia
