Just Three Letters

Hello friends, my blog post schedule is a little off this week because I posted on Monday. I hope you have noticed that I’ve been dropping hints about some changes that are coming to Katherines Corner. All will be revealed shortly. I will continue to share life stories, creativity, and giveaways and of course TFT. But “stay tuned” for a few other things I think you’ll like. Now why on earth would I title this post Just Three Letters?

Well….so far during the Covid 19 “ stay safe stay at home” new normal I have managed to gain 11 unhealthy pounds, proclaimed 2021 as my “ official” year of the purge. If I don’t use it, don’t need it, or have no idea why I have it, it’s out of here! I also very quietly celebrated my 60th birthday ( rotten Covid I needed a party, smile) and….. I added three letters to my name, what letters are they? Rev.

Rev. ? What?

Did you know you can take divinity classes and theology courses from home? You can study historical and theological developments in Christianity. Examine the content of Psalms and Proverbs and their application in modern culture. Learn methods to help you study and teach the Bible more effectively. Well you can, HERE and, HERE and I took several courses. I took condensed classes and still managed to become and ordained Minister/Reverend! All of these classes prepared me for my ministry. I am officially an ordained ecumenical reverend. Which is a Christian based “nondenominational reverend”. In a nutshell, it means, “a Christian Minister or Reverend not associated with the traditions and regulations of an organized denomination, and instead represents the universality of the Christian faith and Unity among christian churches. Those who follow their own heart and are not restricted to a single denomination, ie. Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, etc. but accepts that there is one God and believes in the 5 major beliefs of Christianity.

Yes, Rev. is officially part of my name. The reverend Katherine Corrigan, or The Reverend Katherine . Okay, I know Minister and Reverend are often abbreviated, and the idea of being called the Rev, or Reverend Katherine appeals to me. I know the proper way to address clergy in writing for example is ” The (reverend, minister,pastor, etc) followed by the name. The most common formal titles for a reverend are: Reverend (Rev.), Minister (Min.) But you can just call me Katherine 🙂

Have you ever struggled to fit in? Do you know and accept the 5 major beliefs of Christianity but feel like a square peg in a round hole when you try to find a church? God knows you love him. “There is great reward in merely knowing God and being allowed to come to him by faith.” Matthew 6:6

1 -Uniqueness of Jesus (Virgin Birth}
2- One God (The Trinity)
3 -Necessity of the Cross (Salvation)
4- Resurrection and Second Coming
5- Inspiration of Scripture

What do these three letters mean for Katherines Corner? Will I start writing posts only about religion? Preach from my blog pulpit? Nope!

The truth is I am nervous writing this post because I don’t want you to think that. Of course, I don’t want you to unsubscribe, stop reading, visiting, and participating because of this personal accomplishment. I’ve written about prayer, and being a child of God in the past and I don’t anticipate writing any more than I usually do. The three letters are just another part of my story, and I’m sharing with you. I look forward to reading your comments.

The most important Three Letters are God ( smile) .
