Saturday Angel Stories Cupid
Hello friends, it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow, perfect timing for a post about cupid. The cute little chubby fellow who brandishes a bow and arrow in search of connecting two loves. Most think Cupid is a cherub (a cherub is an angel who is described in the Bible as attending to God). But, Cupid isn’t an angel. Cupid is the god of love in ancient Roman mythology.
Cupid is the winged son of Venus, the Roman goddess of love. Some have mistaken Cupid as Aphrodite, the son of the Greek love god, Eros. Greek mythology is filled with stories of love. But neither Cupid nor Eros is an angel.
His sweet rosy cheeks and delicate features remind us of youth and innocence. While Cupid’s feathered wings evoke feelings of enchantment and the magic of love. He captivates people by using his fiery hot love tipped arrow to strike the hearts of two people. They fall madly in love and are destined to be a couple who live together in beautiful harmony.
The Roman god Cupid even enchanted his own mother to fall in love. Venus was involved in quite a few forbidden love affairs. Who knew Cupid has a dark side?

I still like to think of Cupid as an “angelic” creature who brings lonely hearts their valentine and refreshes love already found.
