Easter Part Two an Angel Story
Happy Easter friends! If you missed part one of the Easter angel story you can click HERE to get caught up (smile). Part two begins–Help was coming, they need to get to the other side of the woods and into the clearing. They could hear the helicopter it wasn’t far off. But they all knew it would get a lot of attention as it approached. Adam stood in front of the platoon as the helicopter touched down and Samuel ushered the platoon inside. Samuel and Adam stood shoulder to shoulder guns at the ready as they heard bullets whizzing by . Everyone was inside the helicopter now and Adam told Samuel to get in and get them to safety. Adam motioned to the pilot to take off.
As Samuel began to climb into the helicopter a bullet struck him in the leg and he fell out of the hoovering helicopter to the ground. Adam raced to his aide got him inside and then turned to return gunfire. Adam kept them busy while the helicopter took off carrying the platoon to the safe zone.
Samuel looked down and he could see Adam was overrun by the enemy, in a matter of seconds a grenade exploded and Adam succumbed by his wounds lay lifeless on the ground. Samuel sobbed as the helicopter medic attended to his injury.
Hope woke from her nap on Molly’s lap just as the choir was softly singing. She whispered to Molly, that her daddy was going to be at the Easter egg hunt. Molly gently reminded her that Daddy was in heaven. But, Hope was quick to make it clear that she knew that, but he was going to be at the Easter egg hunt.
As they left the church, they stopped to thank the Pastor for a beautiful Easter service. Hope tugged on the pastor’s robe and he knelt down to hear what she had to say. She told him her daddy will be at the Easter egg hunt today, the Pastor looked puzzled at first, then gently squeezed her hand and said, “your daddy is always with you”.
They walked across the road to the park for the Easter egg hunt. They could see Samuel sitting on a picnic table holding an Easter basket. Hope ran to greet him, her arms open wide for a hug and a twirl, “is that for me, uncle Sammy?” she said. Samuel replied, “absolutely, always the best for my wonderful niece”. She took the basket and grabbed Samuel’s hand as they started the hunt. Molly called out to them , “I’ll meet you at the big oak when you are done.”
It didn’t take long to fill the basket with eggs. Samuel told Hope, “it’s time to meet your mama under the big oak”. “Oh yes, yes, uncle Sammy, we should hurry” Hope cried out as she tugged on his hand to move quickly. “Daddy will be here soon.” Samuel stopped and looked at Hope, he was puzzled, but he didn’t speak a word, just gave her a grin.
Molly was resting on a checkered blanket with a picnic basket filled with delicious food by her side. Hope was over joyed as she yelled out, “Mama look how many eggs we found isn’t it wonderful?” “Are you ready to eat lunch Hope?” Molly replied. “hope jumped around a bit and replied, “oh no, not yet, daddy’s not here yet.” Molly reminded Hope once more that daddy was in heaven, then just as she pulled her close for a hug, Hope shouted, “there he is, he’s right there!” A beam of sunlight shined brightly over the church. A shape of a man in white waving his hand was clear and bright. Everyone at the park stopped and stared in amazement. “See, I told you daddy would be here today”, Hope said with a big smile. Then the sunlight faded, the image of Adam was gone and Hope shouted, “okay time for lunch mama.”
