Woman Up

Hello friends, as you are aware my blog is focused on inspiration for your life and creativity for your home. When Shannon from Woman Up Cleveland contacted me asking for a donation to their raffle baskets I was happy to help. I donated two decks of Affirmation cards for women. You can find them HERE. Some of you may be wondering why I would donate to an organization in Ohio, when I live in Utah. My answer is a simple one, Woman Up Cleveland is an organization that focuses on inspiring, encouraging and empowering woman. That was enough for me, so I donated and invited Shannon to be my guest today. (smile)

Womanhood – the qualities, life experiences, and circumstances associated with being and/or identifying as a woman – is a reason to celebrate. Women have consistently proven their resilience, challenged stereotypes, and contributed significantly to every aspect of human society. As Cleveland continues to innovate and move forward, it is essential to recognize and celebrate the strength of its women, fostering an environment that empowers and uplifts them, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come. We capitalized on these ideas and a forward-thinking mindset to establish Woman Up Cleveland.

their mission statement – Supporting women from all walks of life both personally and professionally, financially investing in the local business economy, and educating our community.

During the Covid-19 pandemic in Cleveland, OH, we saw a void in events, a lack of women supporting women, and a common struggle among small businesses. With the desire to connect women in Cleveland and uplift small businesses, Woman Up Cleveland was born. Woman Up Cleveland is a Cleveland-OH, 501(c)(3) Non-Profit with the mission of supporting women from all walks of life both personally and professionally, financially investing in the local business economy, and educating our community. We have the vision that one day we will live in a world where every woman can achieve equality and reach their full potential. Our organization exists for the Cleveland community and all of the incredible women, leaders, businesses, and supporters that exist within it.

The underlying principles that drive our organization revolve around community events and empowering future generations. So far, our community events have focused on celebrating womanhood, including our annual Summer Social and our wellness event, Mind – Body – Soul. Our organization took root with the inaugural Summer Social, which aimed to unite, inspire, and empower the women of Cleveland, OH. The upcoming third annual Summer Social is scheduled for July 16th, 2023, and will showcase 25 women-owned, Cleveland-based business vendors, engaging activities and experiences, a DJ + emcee, raffle baskets, and more!

Additionally, our Mind-Body-Soul event on March 4, 2023, offered a comprehensive day of wellness activities, aiming to address all aspects of women’s health and well-being. The event featured a wellness speaker, a self-defense class, nearly 40 vendors specializing in women’s health and well-being, a DJ + emcee, and more!

In terms of our commitment to education, we firmly believe in empowering the next generation of leaders. Therefore, we provide funding for three local scholarships to graduating seniors from our Alma Mater, Mayfield High School. These scholarships serve as a means to support and uplift promising students who demonstrate leadership potential.

Over time, it’s remarkable to witness the numerous organic connections that flourish among vendors, guests, experience leaders, and others! We take pride in the nurturing community of women supporting women that our organization has cultivated and eagerly anticipate what lies ahead. Our intention is to continue organizing our yearly Summer Social and introducing fresh events, all aimed at enhancing our community and raising funds to continue investing in our community.
