Wasted Time
Hello friends, on the blog today, Wasted Time. The dictionary defines wasted time as “causing someone to spend time doing something that is unnecessary or does not produce any benefit. Or the act of causing someone to spend time doing something that is unnecessary or does not produce any benefit.” Well, that’s a pretty heavy definition, isn’t it?
I know that time itself can be described as a relentless thief.
Just take a moment and think about how often you say, “I need more hours in the day, time flies, I don’t have enough time and other idioms for just needing more time.” But every hour doesn’t need to be filled with responsibilities, work, etc. Do yourself a favor, and take control of your time by allowing for wasted time.
How can someone who says they don’t have enough time make time for doing nothing? By making a commitment, a promise to yourself, to live a full life, and that means making time for wasted time. Time for the aaah moments, the do-nothing moments and the watching the clouds or stars moments. Trust me, you will feel like time has been added to your life. Give it a try and see for yourself.
You don’t want to look back at your life some day and say, “I spent my entire life filling every minute doing something”.
I think wasted time is a necessary component for living a full life. So, the next time you find yourself counting stars or watching the clouds go by, embrace your wasted time for the gift that it is. Remember time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.
Do you make time for wasted time?
I love this, Katherine! I love the quote, “Time you enjoyed wasting is not wasted time.” xo
Thank you my friend xo
I appreciate that you wrote how important wasting time is.
I have been doing more me time or as it might be classified as a waste of time.
It is so important to have time to do nothing.
I obviously agree with you (smile) I’m happy to know you are taking time for yourself. We are often the last person we think of. Enjoy your time. Hugs
Hello Katherine!! Love your blog!!! Didn’t you have a blog dog?????? I lose track of things!!! Thanks!! Kelly
Hello Kelly, Yes Izzy is still the blog dog. He is blind now, has diabetes and arthritis. He is still a joy in our life. I have posted a bit about him over the past few months. Thank you for your comment, and asking about Izzy. Hugs
