First Day of Spring
Hello friends, it’s the first day of spring and we’re breaking records with our crazy hot temperatures. It’s expected to be 84 degrees Fahrenheit today! It is a stark contrast to the devastating winter weather others are experiencing across the US. I continue to pray for you all. But I need to celebrate the first day of Spring with a simple poem.
- Shake off the winter’s weary chill!
- Gold crocus and bright daffodil.
- Push through the frost and frozen clay,
- To weave a joyful, grand display.
- Now drinking in the morning light,
- The tulips rise, regal and bright.
- With velvet petals, they reach for the sun.
- Assured that spring has finally come.
- Along the sun-warmed garden wall,
- Each green bud awaits the season’s call.
- To wake from sleep, to bloom, to be,
- Part of Spring’s first tapestry!
