First Pick Red Delicious Strawberries and Recipes
First Pick Red Delicious Strawberries
Thank you for your love, support and prayers. I felt every word from your heart to mine and I shared your love and prayers with my husband. We are both grateful that I have such wonderful bloggy friends.
The title of this post certainly screams out exactly what today’s post is all about. We had our first pick of our strawberries this year ( and second and third). Our grandchildren are enjoying them so much. The other day I was covered in strawberry flavored kisses. It’s good to be the Grandma!
We made delicious smoothies my simple low fat recipe is HERE. My low fat sugar free version is on the left my hubby’s fully loaded smoothie is on the right 🙂
We have been tolerating heat in the high 90’s and even 100 degrees. Those of you who have read my about page know that I am not comfortable! I hate hot!
I have been on the search for refreshing recipes to provide the temporary relief from the heat or at least to give the illusion of coolness. I found some wonderful goodies to share.

I hate hot, too and every one of those photos looks pleasantly refreshing.
I love all these gorgeous strawberry recipes you’ve shared, Katherine! It’s my favorite fruit not just this time of year but all year-round. Thanks for sharing!
Having fresh strawberries of your own must be so great! With the animals around here we can’t grow any fresh fruit. Everything looks so good. I am on Facebook.

Your strawberry fruit smoothies look delicious!
Thanks for sharing all of the other treats also.
Congratulations on your Shops being featured!
Those all look chilly good!
I’m with you – I hate hot. And we were almost a hundred degrees yesterday.
Mmm those strawberry treats all look heavenly! Congrats on both of your shops being featured! That’s awesome! 🙂
I don’t mind the heat so much because to me it’s so much better than winter. I cannot stand driving in the winter so much that it leaves me happy any time there’s not snow. 🙂
The strawberries look delicious! We haven’t gone out to pick any yet, but we may this weekend.
Congrats on the features. I’m headed over to see! 🙂
Sounds delicious!
I just bought some local strawberries and can’t wait to dig into them. Think I’ll make myself a strawberry banana smoothie this morning!!
I bought strawberries for 98cents and plan on making some freezer jam.
For a cool and refreshing treat; try these. I had found this on the internet somewhere but can’t remember where.
Tutti – Frutti Cups
2 cans (11 oz each) mandarin oranges, undrained
1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
5 medium bananas, sliced
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries – sliced
1 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1 can (12 oz) lemon lime soda
1 cup water
3/4 cup lemonade concentrate
1/2 cup sugar
Combine all ingredients.
Fill 8-oz plastic cups 3/4 full; cover and freeze for 4 hours
Remove from freezer at least 30 minutes before serving.
Yield: 20 servings
Oh man all of the above look delicious and need to do some serious pinning to try a few of these at the very least (I am a huge strawberry fan). Thank you for sharing and sending thoughts and love your way. Have a great weekend!! 🙂
Congratulations Katherine. Your Etsy shop is so nice. Great items.
Have a great day.
