How To Make A Bib Necklace
Creating things gives me joy. Painting, crafting, photography, gardening, and well…….you know, I love to cook ! These are all wonderful forms of art , expression and creativity But, sometimes finding inspiration can be a little tough.
I was at the hair salon recently and looked through a bridal magazine. I’ll look through any magazine if you leave it laying on the table. I even looked through the NASCAR magazine at the doctors office recently. But, I digress… I saw a beautiful necklace very similar to this one

I loved the vintage look of it. It got me thinking about about all of the pretty broken vintage jewelry I had laying around . I was inspired! I gathered it all together and then asked my mother to send me hers too. Here is just a sample of what she sent.
Pearls and rhinestones aren’t they lovely?

Look at these greens, aren’t they gorgeous.
So why not take some beautiful trash and turn it into treasure. 🙂
Lets Make It! Lay the felt square on a flat surface and place the jewels and gems where you would like them on the felt.
Take a photograph using a camera or camera phone.
Using a disappearing ink pen draw around the gems.
Remove the gems and cut the felt where you marked it for the backing.Then cut another piece to match using the first piece as your template
Using your photo as a reference, arrange gems on the fabric starting at the center and working outward. Carefully coat the back of each gem with glue and adhere each one to the fabric.
Place parchment paper on top of the gems then place the dictionary on top of the parchment paper as a weight and let dry (make sure no glue is leaking out of the sides ,(you do not want to glue the parchment paper to the necklace)
Cut ribbon into two equal-length pieces, these pieces will determine the length of your necklace.
Glue ribbon to each end of fabric for ties. Let dry. If desired, turn necklace over and use invisible filament thread to anchor the gems and the ribbon.
Coat second the second piece of felt with thin layer of glue and cover back of necklace, hiding the thread and the ribbon ends. Using sharp scissors ( or a craft knife) carefully cut away extra fabric if needed.
There you have it, a bib for grown ups .

Vintage inspired fashions are all the rage right now, and I love it. The vintage jewelry is so pretty, and I know you will do some fabulous stuff with it.

I was inspired to try a new recipe I saw on a blog recently. The lemon cake was so beautiful, I sent for recipe and tried it out. Turned out beautiful and everyone loves the taste! Love cooking and baking, trying new recipes for my family and neighbors.
