2296
2296! No this is not a post about the year 2296. Although I love sci fi, and would enjoy a story or movie based in the year 2296. It is a post about the future. The future of Katherines Corner.
2296 is the number of amazing, outstanding, totally wonderful, followers ( bloggy friends) who currently follow Katherines Corner using GFC ( Google Friend Connect) What a blessing to have so much love in one place.
It brings me to tears to think we will no longer be connected through GFC ( details click HERE).
A quote from google blog-“Google Friend Connect—We’re retiring the service for all non-Blogger sites on March 1, 2012. We encourage affected sites to create a Google+ page and place a Google+ badge on their site so they can bring their community of followers to Google+ and use new features like Circles and Hangouts to keep in touch.”
I wonder, is it to much, to dare to dream….. that each of you, all 2296 of you, would welcome Katherines Corner in your email box?
If you are a bloggy friend and currently follow Katherines Corner through GFC please consider subscribing via email . You will receive the Katherines Corner blog feed in your in box. A new and possibly better way to share Katherines Corner with each of you. This is not like the newsletter. It is a copy of the post you will find here nothing else. Note- you can still follow Katherines corner through your RSS feed too or the new linky follower tool on my right sidebar
I may blog about this again before the GFC disappears from my sidebar……..
Please add YOUR blog to my blog list page !
I just subscribed to you through linky tools. I just followed you and set up my own linky! Thanks for the inspiration!
blessings,
karianne
I have always followed people in two places, call me strange! I have all my GFC people in my Google Reader too, so, I think I am covered, we will see?
I hop over from “Over 50, feeling 40” on a weekly basis. So, not actually a follower before, I just signed up. I actually prefer getting blog entries in my inbox. Go figure! I really like your blog. Mari
Hi Katie,
I am very disappointed to see Google Friend Connect go as one could always look at the dashboard and see posts from the Blogs I follow so easily. Anyway one has to find an alternative and you can send your post as an email to me. Take care and Lots of Love & Friendship to you.
Judy
I just completed by subscription request. But your are on my blog directory and Thursdays are etched in my brain 😉 Side note on the number, I did think it was a house number. My son once asked me if our house was the 104th ever made (house #).
I’m pretty sure I have you in my feed. I don’t know why they have to do that but they must have their reasons. I do not like Google+.
I’m so glad that I don’t have to worry about losing track of you….your posts come to my email inbox and I can enjoy them and then click to come here. Love it!
I’m already a subscriber, and have you in my Google + circles as well, so we’re cool there. 😉
I’m seriously considering switching to Blogger for this reason alone. Hmm, I wonder if that’s their plan? 😉
DONE!
I have an Australian friend, Mynx, that recently left blogger and I receive her posts on my email and love it because I don’t even have to be blogging and can catch up on whats happening in the land down under.
Hugs,
Odie
I am sure we can still subscribe in our RSS readers can’t we? Or does this affect RSS too? Well not to worry, we will all find a way to keep following you 🙂

I still don’t think this is going to keep you from showing up on my dashboard, but I guess we’ll see.
