Scrapbooking
Scrapbooking-
Scrapbooking is continuing to grow in popularity. Preserving and filling a book with sweet memories. A book filled with pages of treasures lovingly placed perfectly to be shared and enjoyed for years to come. My bloggy friend Cathy from A Peek Into My Paradise is my special guest today and she is a scrapbooking rock star. The joy of scrapbooking is shared in many of her blog posts. Today she is my guest and I know you are going to enjoy this fun post.
Hello friends of Katherine’s Corner! A huge thank you to Katherine for inviting me to share a post with all of you today!.
I’m Cathy and I am owner and author of A Peek Into My Paradise. My husband and I are high school sweethearts and in June will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I love to show him I love him as I did in 12 Days of Christmas for My Husband. We are recent empty nesters rediscovering adulthood after 27 years of being a family of four.
I am always doing something, I just don’t know how to sit still; even when watching TV or a movie, I have to be doing something! I have always had a passion for crafts. For years I loved to sew; even making clothes for my children when they were elementary age, until it was no longer cool to wear clothes mom made. Then I dove deep into cross stitch.
When I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel in 2001 and hand intensive crafts were impossible and I was on disability for years, I became really involved in scrapbooking. The craft was all the rage. You could say “everyone was doing it!” Scrapbook stores were everywhere. I have been a shutterbug since I could hold a camera so scrapbooking was the perfect blend of pictures meets crafts. I have completed over (20) 12 x 12 albums. I have slowly converted to digital scrapbooking the past few years and love My Memories Software.
I have two grown children, Kimberley and Bobby. Kimberley got engaged in the summer of 2010; with the wedding in July of 2011. With finances being what they were, a long guest list and my one and only daughter having visions of her dream wedding; mom took on a new role, hands on wedding planner/maker.
Now, I have been in charge of week long Girl Scout Camps with over 400 girls attending. I was a Girl Scout Troop Leader for over 10 years. However, there is no other event that tops planning and hand making your daughters wedding. From table centerpieces complete with live goldfish, hand painting a personalized runner, wedding photo blocks, all the bouquets and flowers, a set of guest books with a question on each to a huge cinnamon roll in place of a wedding cake. My daughter loves all things bread and cinnamon; she wanted a cinnamon roll as her wedding cake, so mom made it. And let the wedding fun begin again….my son Bobby is engaged and getting married in March!
A family favorite for years! – Weight Watchers Supreme Breakfast Biscuits and helped me lose 100 pounds in 9 months.
For years friends and family would ask me, “How did you make that delicious Apple Pie Spice Coffee Cake?”, “YOU made Kimberley a birthday Gift Card Shopping Spree Book, how?”, “Oh my, I want the recipe!”.
You could say Kimberley’s wedding was the question that broke the crafters back. Where could I share my ideas, my love of everything Disney, recipes, my pictures and passion for photography, the crafts I made with my friends and family? On a blog!
My first post was live in September of 2012 and what began as a simple vehicle to share has grown into a passion! There has been a new post at A Peek Into My Paradise every day since. Yes, I love sharing my recipes, holiday ideas, crafts, reviews, DIY tips, organization, travel and honestly whatever moves me. I invite you to visit A Peek Into My Paradise and if you like what you see I would love for you to be a friendly stalker! Leave me a comment if your a new follower – we bloggers love comments – if you are a blogger I will visit you too!
One of my favorite scrapbooking projects is my Story of Us Album; a celebration of the love of my husband and I.
Today, I invite you to take a peek in my Puppy Love Scrapbook….
Sassy fit in a coffee mug at 6 weeks old!
I made this scrapbook quite a few years ago now. Unfortunately, my sweet Sassy passed away last year which was harder than it should have been; My Mind Says It’s Time But My Heart Never Will. Having my scrapbook was very comforting to look through and share my sweet Sassy with family and friends.
Carly, the old furry lady in the house now, is Sassy’s little sis when Carly joined our family in 2008.
My Puppy Love Scrapbook is 8 x 8.
Perfect for a weekend project or a gift and to use up that big stack of paper scraps!
It only takes a minute to fall in love with a fluffy little bundle of joy!
Don’t have a pile of paper scraps? Pet themed scrapbook sets with coordinating papers and embellishments make the project super easy!
Aren’t Shih Tsu’s adorable as puppies? I love the picture below; the one with all the toys. It’s like a “Where’s Waldo”. Do you see Carly laying in the pile of toys?
So true! Spoiled dogs do live here – and always will! I can’t imagine a home without the pitter patter of little furry feet!
Thank you Katherine for inviting me to share with your friends today! Have a wonderful week friends!

I have done some scrapbooking in the past, and I really enjoy it!
These are some wonderful pages!! I love scrapbooking. I’ve taken a few years off from it, but am by no means done with it. 🙂
I love scrapbooking about pets and family too. It is so nice to look back at the adventure of life.
Adorable Cathy and have done some light scrapbooking in the past, but nothing like this. Thanks for sharing with us here today!! 🙂
