Hug a Palooza 2021
Hello friends, I hope everyone is well and smiling today. I’m still on a happy high from hugging! Sunday we had a Hug A Palooza. A day of hugging our loved ones with a side of yummy food! Because I have cancer and my hubby has COPD the pandemic stopped us from hugging anyone accept each other ( thank the Lord we have each other). So after we reached the immunity stage of our Covid vaccinations we finally got to hug everyone! It had been over a year! We were missing one bright light, our sweet granddaughter who lives in Kentucky. But, it was still amazing!!!!!
I asked our daughter to indulge my request to make tee shirts to commemorate the occasion!
The Power of a Hug
Touch is a powerful way to convey feelings of safety, love, and connection. Frequent hugging and hand-holding can help to lower blood pressure, boost self-esteem, and it is, of course, associated with happiness. Oxytocin, aka “the cuddle hormone”, levels rise when we hug, touch, or sit close to someone else. If you haven’t been hugged lately, I hope you feel this one HUGGGGGGGGGGGGG!
