This and That
Hello friends, time for a little catch up. But first…..The winner of the birthday giveaway has not replied. If I don’t receive a reply by midnight tonight a new winner will be selected. I must admit, the giveaway gave me a lot of insight regarding content here at Katherines Corner. It looks like everyone really likes the recipes. I’ll do my best to share new recipes a bit more often. (smile)
Unfortunately typing has been difficult lately. As you can see by my x-ray, I’m dealing with some painful issues. Long story short- I was shaking a sheet when I took it out of the dryer, we all do that right? My hand came down hard on the door knob! I saw stars and expected cartoon birds to be circling my head.
I just thought it was a bad bruise, so didn’t think much of it. Until a few nights later when the pain was so bad I couldn’t sleep. We went to urgent care the next day. We were certain the doctor would say it’s broken. But when the doctor came in she said, ” I hate to give this kind of news to anyone.” So hubby and I said in unison” it’s broken”. She said, “nope that would actually be much better news”. Instead thy found some sort of growth, several bone on bone areas ( I have OA) and a previous break that didn’t heal properly. There are a few more things too. I was referred to a hand surgeon.
I saw a hand specialist and he gave me a shot ( it may have been more painful than my hand). Sadly the shot didn’t do much for my hand. But it did cause a myriad of other issues, including a diverticulitis flare up…UGH!

Friends this is the time to think about God’s unexpected ways. If I hadn’t hurt my hand, I wouldn’t have known about the growth until it was really causing more pain and damage! I’ll have an MRI on Dec 15th and they will also do a biopsy.
Friends, I can’t stress this enough…… no matter what, there is always someone suffering with something much worse. Please join me in prayer.

Merciful Lord, we come to You today seeking Your healing touch. We ask that You help those in need. For physical restoration, emotional comfort, or spiritual renewal, please extend Your healing hand. We hold onto the promise in Your Word, knowing that You are the ultimate source of health and peace. Strengthen their body and soul, Lord. Give them endurance in this time of difficulty and peace that surpasses all understanding. May they feel Your loving presence with them. We place our faith and hope in You, our Great Physician.
“Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.” Jeremiah 17:14:
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Okay onward we go. Is anyone Christmas shopping yet? With the tariffs, prices are much higher than usual. I’m buying things already. When do you do your shopping? I hope you’ll consider my shops. Making new inventory has been a challenge. But, I expect to have all of my handmade folios listed in the art shop by the end of the week. I still have several to finish. (smile)
Handmade ornaments will find their way to the shops too. If you haven’t visited my 8 dollar jewelry shop. I invite you to find something affordable and lovely to wear for the holiday season. Or to give as a gift. (smile)
Sorry about your hand but it did reveal a more serious problem. Prayers!
