Izzy and the Dreaded Fireworks
Hello friends! I hope your week is off to a great start. Did you enjoy the holiday weekend? The 4th was stressful as usual for our sweet boy, Izzy. When the fireworks start, we swaddle him, hold him, and do our best to comfort him, but he just has such a hard time with the noise. Where we live, we’re surrounded by four different cities, and every single one hosts a massive fireworks celebration. This year, the booming, whistling and blasting seemed to go on even longer than usual. Probably because of the big US 250th birthday! We ended up turning the TV volume all the way up to help drown out the noise, just hanging in there with him for two very long, stressful hours.

Every year we follow the instructions I share HERE but….we would love to know what you do to help your fur babies handle the fireworks?

We are going to be inundated with another round of firework celebrations soon for Utah’s Pioneer Day on the 24th. If you have any tips, tricks, or suggestions that might help soothe a scared pup, please share them with me in the comments! Izzy, my hubby, and I would be incredibly grateful for anything new to try.
Wishing you all a day filled with smiles!
Do they make doggie noise-canceling headphones?
That would be cool!
Sorry Izzy really suffers with fireworks. I just saw something on YouTube that said to not try and comfort your dog, but that doesn’t seem right to me. I know you can give them a sedative that will knock them out to sleep, but maybe dog earplugs would work?? Don’t know if there is such a thing, but maybe… Well, it’ll be over soon!
Happy belated July 4th and Happy Pioneer Day!

Thank you so much for your comment. I appreciate it. Hugs!!!
Our vet gave us a very mild sedative. It helps her a lot. She gets nerviness when we travel and it helps then too.
Well I feel a little dingy, because I never thought to ask the vet for a mild sedative. Brilliant idea. Thank you so much. Hugs!
I am surprised with all the firest they are doing firework shows. We had access to drone fireworks . It’s not the same, but it is great for our pets!

They asked people not to. But they didn’t listen!…xox
