Just Good Info
It’s been a while since I shared some “Just Good Information”with you. This time I chose Makeup as the topic .I’ve been using these tips for many, many years!
Get More Out Of Your Mascara Tube Mascara can dry out. But there is a way to get a bit more mascara from the tube. Place the closed mascara tube in a cup or bowl and fill with hot water, only fill the cup to just below the break in the tube where you twist to open. DO NOT get water into the mascara tube! Let the tube sit in the cup of water for about a minute. This softens up the mascara and it will apply easily. Remember; don’t use a pumping (up and down) motion when putting the wand into the mascara tube. This pushes air into the tube and causes the mascara to dry out . Instead gently insert the wand into the tube and swirl around two to three times and then apply to your lashes.
Getting The Best From Your Eye Lash Curler Warm your eyelash curler (just the part that goes onto the lashes) in the palm of your hand for a few seconds before you use it. The warmth of your hand helps to make curling your lashes easier.
How To Fix A Broken Lipstick Lipstick is expensive and it can be very frustrating if it breaks. Before you start, wash your hands. Then take the two broken pieces and place them gently together smoothing the edges a bit with your finger. Then close the lipstick tube and place in your freezer for about 15 minutes. This will also work if your lipstick has been left out in the sun and has gone soft.
When To Replace Makeup Liquid based makeup: foundation, mascara and concealer need to be replaced every three months. They can grow bacteria quickly! Powdered makeup can be used for a year before it needs replacing. Perfume will last two years if it hasn’t been exposed to light, heat or air.

Hi, sweetie! I really appreciate this info. I am going to have to make sure to abide by the drop dead dates on makeup. I’m glad that powder lasts longer. I’m thinking it might be a good idea (at least for me) to get some sort of sticker to put on them with the date included.
Hope you are having a super day…
XO,
Sheila 🙂
That is all ‘just good info’! Especially the one about the mascara. Never thought of that! Just stopped over from FTLOB, and now that you saved the last bits of my favorite mascara I can’t find over in Germany, I am really glad I did 🙂
Thank you so much Katherine. Big Hugs Anne

thank you I’ve been doing it for years. Hugs!
Loved the info on the mascara and the lipstick, very useful.
I couldn’t afford to replace my foundation every 3 months! It lasts me donkeys ages so I’m just going to have to risk the bacteria.
giggle
Great tips! I never heard the one about the lipstick before. “cool” idea 😉
Thank you. happy to share something new. Hugs
Awesome information…now if I could just get the rust off my cheeks long enough to wear make up 🙂
I really didn’t know that I was supposed to replace mascara every three months, but it makes total sense. I will be sure to pass these tips onto my DD, she’s the eyelash curler queen in this household.
big hugs my friend!
Great tips about putting the mascara in hot water, I am going to try that! I always try to replace my mascara after a few months but I do know people who don’t wear make-up often who keep theirs for years! Yuck.
yuck,…..
Great tips! Thanks so much!!! 😀

Mine never does either. Hugs!

My pleasure. Hugs!
I use that warm water trick with mascara, especially in winter, or, sometimes I just hit it with the hair dryer for a second.
Great minds… xo
