A Furry Friend Tail
Giggle, don’t mind the title, I was just having some fun. People are often heard asking, “are you a cat person or a dog person?” I’m allergic to cats, and I adore all animals, but I am a dog person. I had a wonderful “pocket dog” for many, many years. She was a constant companion. When she was a pup I always said she was small enough to fit in your pocket.I miss her. I haven’t had a dog for about 13 years . I do dog sit for my friend on occasion and I always enjoy it.
Lat year when I was doing some flower gardening I met one of the new neighbors. The sweetest little miniature schnauzer you have ever seen. I happily introduce you to my furry friend, Winston. It was friends at first sight. I scratched him behind the ears and he rested his head on my lap while I dug in the garden. It was terrific. Soon I met the wonderful family who loves and cares for my new furry friend. I am always happy to play with him when he is outside. I even got to dog sit him one weekend. It was terrific.
one more photo of Winston in the shadows. He’s looking out the den window while I work. So cute!
Are you a cat person or a dog person?
Please add your blog to the Thursday Favorite Things Blog hop linky party below it stays active until Saturday night 🙂
I have cats, dogs and guinea pigs!
How cute is that! Although I don’t have a pet, I do love dogs and cats. I’m somewhat allergic to cats but still enjoy them. A dear friend used to have a schnauzer, and I enjoyed babysitting him (guess that should be dogsitting)!
Katherine,
I am definitely a dog person!
We have not had a dog for 2 years and i can not go through losing another dog. Thanks so much for your visit and kind comments!
Hugs,
Debbie
How cute is he! And I love that his name is Winston! We have a miniature poodle and a non-shedding terrier mix, both under 15lbs (I’m allergic to cats AND shedding dogs) so I’m clearly a dog person. 🙂 Thanks for coming over to my blog; you’ll get to see more pics of our two puppies on it!
I am loving Winston also. I am sitting for my son’s dog and he is so sweet and so spoiled. A seven year old daschund. I haven’t had a dog in many years but I did have a cat who lived to be eighteen years old. I still miss her. Our pets are part of our families.
Hi darling, I used to always have cats, they are always so warm, fuzzy and loving. After loosing the last one I honestly didn’t want another animal. Just didn’t want to go through the heart ache again. Now, we have Miss Scooter a cocker spaniel, Murphy a stray collie that showed up and when the grandson visits we have his dog Miss Isabelle a wire haired terrier. So… I guess you could say I’m now a dog lover. lol. With all of Mr. P’s illness’ Miss Scooter is his constant companion and brings us both tons of joy. Thank you so much for stopping by to say hello, hope you visit many more times.. hugs ~lynne~

Hi- Thanks for finding me so I could find you back. We used to have dogs AND cats. We have not had a pet since our last kitty died 3-1/2 years ago. I don’t think I could take losing another one. xo Diana
I am a dog person – always have been, always will be! However, my hubby is a cat person (go figure!) and, at one time, we had a cat who would come when I called her and she ate with out two mini daschunds. After she passed away (from old age) we have not gotten another cat. The two mini’s have turned the hubby into a dog person and we spoil them unmercifully – they are our four legged children!
What a cutie. I am a dog person.
I have had both cats and dogs usually simulataneously. They both offer companionship. So, I would choose both! I love our animal friends. Can’t imagine a home without one.
I love them both but cats make more sense for me right now. They’re okay on their own while I’m at work and great company when I am home.
I’m not an animal person at all, but I would pick a dog over a cat any day. Cats really stink to me. I have a very sensitive sense of smell, and people have strong smells to me that others can’t smell. That could be why the pets are just too smelly for me?? Weird, huh!
I am definitely a dog person. My Westie, Bonnie, is the love of my life! I am allergic to cats, unfortunately. There is a cat at our daughter’s barn named Loius who stalks me. He LOVES me! He will jump on my car and stand on the ragtop looking upside down at me through the windshield. If I sit down to watch my daughter ride, he will appear out of nowhere and jump into my lap!!! :/
Winston is so cute, and he says that he wants a friendly furbaby as a neighbor ;P
xo,
Ricki Jill
I am a definite dog person, and I so miss having one now.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Katherine. You should come link with us because we are doing St. Patrick’s Day for Pink Saturday.
I am an animal lover. I have two fur babies in the most adorable yorkies you can imagine and they are a daily treat to have. I like cats but don’t like the independent “feed me, pet me, leave me alone” attitude so I tend to prefer the big cats that behave like dogs anyway.
I love cats, but dogs are my favorite.
I am a dog person although I had a cat and dog for most of my life growing up. Right now I kind of want a dog but I can’t stand the poop and fur! Toddlers are messy enough as it is 🙂 We just enjoy our neighbors dogs instead of owning one ourselves.
Cute! I’m a dog and cat person. However, I was just getting ready to do a post on my 70 lb Tortoise. Love him too 🙂
I love dogs! I did own a cat once though! Winston is adorable!
I’ve never had a cat, dogs only. Winston looks very sweet.
What a cutie!!! 😀 I love most all animals. -Some can be daunting, so I admire from far off. I do love kitty cats and doggies. Visiting to join your hop.

I grew up with dogs, but I like both.
And dogs are smart. They know a buddy when they see one.
Oh but Grandma, what big ears you have…said Little Red Riding Hood 😉
Of course in blogland my two dogs are famous with all the pictures I’ve posted. Have always been a dog person. Then if I am around goats I am a goat person as well. Wish I had a secure place to keep couple. Have a happy Friday my sweet friend.
Huge Hugs,
Odie
He is so adorable!!!! I am an animal person in general but like you I’m allergic to cats so I have 2 dogs:)
I was a cat person until I turned 28 and fell inlove with Lhasa Apso’s….We now have 4 Lhasa apso’s although they are old now with medical issue’s 🙁 2 lab mixes and 1 english setter 🙂
I’m a dog person, Katie, and I always seem to gravitate to other dog people. Have a safe and happy weekend, dear friend!
Hi Katherine,
You know, I’m totally allergic to cats – but growing up, I was a “cat person.” As a child, I had cats as “outside pets” because of course, I’d get sooo sick if they stayed indoors (they stayed in our covered patio overnight). Anyway, I’ve always wanted to have dogs, but my parents never agreed to that. And now, my hubby is just about allergic to either one, so I’ll have to cross out ever having any “inside pets!” lol But that furry little friend of yours is just too cute! 🙂 Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,
Jessie
I am allergic to cats and my kids are, too. We are dog people. I miss my dogs. Hubby doesn’t want to get another one. He’s afraid it will outlive us and be a burden to someone else. I’m trying to honor his wishes… but it’s awfully hard!
LOL..am a cat person 🙂
