Cookies and Milk
Cookies and Milk
You all know how much I enjoy sharing my photos . Ninety percent of the photos at Katherines Corner are mine (all of the photos on Katherines Corner enlarge when you click them). I use a canon power shot camera for all of my photography and I have a tripod, but that’s it. I am just an amateur and I am really an amateur when it comes to food photography. For every good food photo, I have to take thirty. I often have to scrap photos because of steam or because the food ( although delish) just didn’t look appealing.
I enjoy photography so much, like many of you . But, I still have so much to learn. My staged photographs take a lot of time. I love learning new things about photography and I recently ordered the book Food Photography for Dummies! I’ll let you know what I learn.
Here’s an example of what I go through for a staged shot of cookies and milk. I will post the recipe for these oatmeal cookies Monday 🙂
How many photos do you take before you post it on your blog?
Have a wonderful weekend sweet friends.
Katherine,
Hi! Your photo’s are great! I know it’s hard to get the photo just right sometimes especially when you have a camera like mine. I take quite a few sometimes and end up settling for one.
Merry Christmas
Pat
Oh those cookies make me want to break my diet so bad!! They look utterly delicious. I take tons of photos before I post on my blog and I feel like I never end up posting them on a timely manner…
Thank you so much for participating in our Aloha Friday Blog Hop!! I am following you, of course!! Wishing you and yours a lovely week!!
Aloha,

well those cookies look real to me..the photos are great!! I am getting more and more interested in photography from looking at blogs..maybe someday I’ll get a camera of my own!
The work is worth the effort, your posted pics always look fabulous!
Katherine, if you consider to be an amateur, you really need to go professional with the beautiful and high quality of all of your photos. I am learning so MUCH from you and am truly grateful. I wish you a blessed Christmas season! PS: I love your blog template!
You got me Katie! I am not much of a sweet tooth but I do love cookies and milk. Lovely photos that left my mouth watery, thanks for sharing, have a super blessed weekend!
Your photos make me want to eat those cookies!! Not too shabby 😉

These cookies look soo yummy! You’re pictures make my mouth water and me crave a big giant cookie and glass of milk. I’m a foodie myself and love all things food. I’ll definitely be drooling I mean stopping by and seeing what else you’ve cooked up. I found your blog through the Aloha Friday Blog Hop.

I’ve been told that I’ll be an okay food photographer when I only need to take 10 shots to get a good one. I’m so far from that because I take a bazillion, then look at them and then go take some more. 🙂 Yours are lovely!
I love taking food photos too. The trouble is I don’t cook enough things that I can photograph. I bought Helene Dujardin’s book on food photography. I loved it. Have you seen the blog “What Katie Ate” it has some faboulous food photography shots on there. I take dozens of shots too when taking food photos. I am going to pop over to your facebook page.
I love the reds in your photos.

PS – grabbed your button. I’m a sort of new blogger and looking at your blog tells me I have a lot to learn and I don’t want to miss a thing. 🙂
I’m with the Aloha blog hop. 🙂 I’m so glad I hopped here too cuz you’re inspirational! I’m an amateur photographer on my way to trying to be professional and a writer. Your photos are beautiful and yes, I take like 50 before sharing just one. I like to manipulate photos, too, in programs like GIMP or even online with BeFunky. I can’t wait to follow your blog! Sharing this everywhere. 🙂
Great photos! I’ve tried taking food pics before and I know it is NOT easy! I do a lot of reviews and the pics are not what they should be, though I must admit they are better than my food pics! LOL

P.S. Thanks for linking up to the GtKY blog hop! 🙂
I think you take fantastic photos. I love the red background on these photos of your cookies. I spend an inordinate amount of time snapping photos just to get one good one. It takes a lot of patience and a very steady hand to take good photos. 🙂
I love your photos! You always do a great job!
Have a wonderful weekend!
(( hugs ))
Love your photos! I still struggle with kitchen pictures.
I love your photos. I wish I knew how you get your Katherine’s Corner written across the photos.. I am hopeless with graphics.
Yum! The cookies look delicious. I’m with you – I take tons of photos just to get one I like. I’m new at photography (got a DSLR this past summer) and I’m trying to learn everything I can. I love to take lots of shots at different angles/viewpoints then look at them on my computer to see what catches my eye.
My favorite combo!
I’m still learning so much about photography. And food photography is a whole different kettle of fish (pun intended). I take tons of photos and usually still hate the ones on my blog. It’s a learning process every time I get the camera out. I should really take more time to shoot better pictures, but I don’t. Bad me.
By the way, love the new header. PicMonkey?
Wow, those are really good shots!
I LOVE hearing how you think you’re amateurish….your photos are always SO AWESOME and professional-looking. Makes me feel so much better about my photos =)
Have a happy weekend!
My goodness, Katie, instead of ordering books on food photography you should be writing them! These and all your food “beauty shots” are A#1. My father was a lifelong shutterbug and I have used a number of his photos on my blog. I hope you and Izzy have a delightful weekend, dear friend!
Those cookies look so good!
I’m so glad to know yours don’t always turn out like you planned. I always admire your shots!
