Birdsong Tablescape

One of my favorite things about spring is the sweet sound of the birdsong as they joyfully welcome the warming weather. They are busy building nests and singing their sweet songs from the comfort of our still dormant trees. It isn’t quite spring yet, but their melodic birdsongs effortlessly bring a smile as we know the new season is on its way. I chose this theme for my tablescape.

Taa Daa

The lovely Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate is hosting a Springtime Tablescape blog hop and she invited me to join her! As most of you know I am a “tablescaper in training” and hope to one day master this lovely presentation style. As you can imagine, I am over the moon excited to have my Birdsong Tablescape among so many very talented bloggers. Thank you, Chloe! I invite you to click on the links below to see all the amazing tablescapes being shared. I know most tablescapes are much more elaborate so I dub mine ” birdsong tablescape minimal style” ( wink).

I created my tablescape using this beautiful, China Johanna Haviland Blue Garland ( a gift from my Mum) and simple things from around our home.

I have quite a few lovely bird figurines and I thought they were perfect for the table.

I added white feathers to the little nests and to my spring bird dish, I like the softness it brings to the table.

A string of pearl beads tied loosely makes a nice napkin ring.

A few silk flowers added to one of my many white pitchers, and the pretty dessert bowls are a reminder that spring blooms are on the way.

Have fun visiting these amazing blogger’s tablescapes. I hope you liked my birdsong tablescape a much as I liked creating it.

I smiled at your reference to being a “tablescaper in training”. An Instagram friend invited me to join a tablescape blog hop for Thanksgiving and I messaged her back saying, “You know I’m not a decor blogger, right? Are you sure you have the right person?” I let her talk me into it, and I’m glad I did. It was fun! Your tablescape is beautiful and I love the tribute to springtime birdsong. It’s such a joy to hear the birds now!

Katherine, how tweet (sweet!) to see another interpretation of a bird tablescape for spring. I love how you added the white feathers and eggs to the setting. And, how wonderful to have dishes from your mother at the table. Lovely.

Kathrine I love your tablescape and you fit right in with all the other stylists. Several of us chose birds as you did and I love it. Birds herald Spring and for those of us who have birds year round…it just gives us more time to love ’em. I love your ironstone pitcher of silk flowers which are perfect for the soft greens and whites of your tablescape. Next to birds, I love bird songs and your lovely table perfected both. It is a pleasure to blog hop with you.

Katherine, your Songbird Tablescape is elegantly cozy. I am in love with your floral pitcher centerpiece with your sweet birds on top of your ribboned cake plate. Your mom’s chinaware gift is so pretty and definitely a classic. I love that your accented it all with a sage green. Your pearled accents on your napkins are a beautiful touch of detail. Such a lovely representation of Spring.

What lovely words as an intro to the manner in which spring arrives, Katherine! Your sweet nesting instincts display exactly that sweet transition of winter to spring with your use of nests, birds, feathers, and eggs. It’s a pleasure to have your company alongside the other stylists on this week’s blog tour. Welcome, and happy spring!
