Summers End
Just as Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start to summer, the Labor Day weekend is the unofficial end. Summers end comes with the anticipation of my favorite season, Autumn! But, that means I must soon say goodbye to long summer days and a sad farewell to the garden to table meals that can’t be matched by any local market ( farmers market excluded of course).
Here in Utah, the intense heat of summer lingers and we are still enjoying fresh veg from the garden for a little bit longer. Do you need some tomatoes? Stop by and I’ll give you a basket full.
Autumn will arrive at Katherines Corner this weekend too. Plans are underway for autumn blog posts and all things Autumn. It still counts if they’re written on scraps of paper and post-it notes, right?
Are you looking forward to this year’s Season of Giveaways? It starts on October 26th this year! Watch for the announcement. Make sure you are a subscriber! Please click HERE to subscribe.
Summers end allows me to share one more petunia update! Look how big it is! If you missed previous posts about this bit of garden magic please click HERE, HERE and HERE.
I thought you might get a tickle out of this change. Although it should probably have been done at the beginning of summer, I jumped into the deep end and did it for summers end. I wanted it to be a bit longer ( about 2 inches). But my long hair had so many broken strands the stylist cut it a bit shorter to create added fullness. If you are new to Katherines Corner, I have chronic blood cancer, please see my about page for details. Treatments and medication cause hair loss and brittle hair. I will miss my long braid, but it’s just hair, right?
This was the inspiration for my new do!
To all of my lovely US subscribers enjoy the long weekend, Happy Labor Day, be safe, make happy memories and wear your sunscreen. For all of my other lovely subscribers, I hope you have a weekend filled with happy ( please wear your sunscreen too).
Does it feel like Summers End to you?

The new hairstyle looks great! I know what you mean about missing your braid – if I cut my hair, I would miss my ponytail!! I just don’t want a hairstyle I have to fuss with every day.
