Our Home at Christmas 2019
I still have wrapping to do, cookies to make and pictures to take and we are on the Christmas countdown. Today all five of our grandchildren ages ( 10 , on New Year’s eve and, 13, 16, 17 and 20) will be here for cookie day! Since I can’t have you all over to bake cookies or to have some Christmas tea or holiday cocoa, I thought I’d share a few photos from Our home at Christmas.
Poinsettias on the tablecloth, on the wreath, and on the teapot. We don’t have a formal dining room, but it’s still easy to use a different color theme here.
We had this buffet made many years ago and at the time I had the option to add a top with shelves, glass doors, etc. to create a China cabinet. But, I said no because leaving it open allows me to decorate the top of the buffet for every season, holiday, etc. Christmas on the buffet this year is a mix of silver and gold. Can I tell you something? If we had the money I would go back and have them make another one with the top. and I’d move this one. Do you have a buffet or China cabinet?
Christmas on the staircase, I love the look of the banister when it’s covered with lights and greenery. Do you have stairs in your home? Do you decorate the banisters?
I changed our Christmas tree and decor colors this year to silver, white and dusty blue. It’s been several years since I changed the theme of the tree. Sometimes you just need to do something a little different.
In the Christmas tree room. Our angel topper has to lean over a bit she is touching the ceiling! I ended up moving the wreath down a few inches on the mirror but neglected to take a photo.
Did you see my wreath makeover post?
I love decorating the rarely-used fireplace. When we built the house to sell, a fireplace was a big plus. I think it’s a great space to display art and of course, seasonal decor too.
Izzy is pretty relaxed ( this is his stop taking photos face), and always close by. Hmmm, is his hat on crooked? giggle…..
and, Christmas in our hearts all year long.
I hope you enjoyed the photos of Our home at Christmas.

Your home is so beautiful! I am so glad you shared the photos!
I love your color scheme, Katherine and your mantle looks beautiful. It’s a restful color combination I think–just the blue, silver and white.
Happy Christmas and New Years to you and your family!
Everything looks very lovely! I saw the title in my e-mail and wanted to stop over and see (you always do such a great job with decorating) and wish you a Merry Christmas as well.
