Above The Bed
Hello, friends, let’s talk about the big space above the bed today. Our bedroom is neutral, very neutral, as in devoid of color ( wink). The truth is, it is a relaxing space but I have never really committed to what to put above the bed. That big blank area really needs something.
We have had this lovely cross above our bed for quite some time.
I did some searching and found a plethora of ideas for above the bed.
Elle Decor suggestions a brass sculpture or a coronet and curtains. Both lovely but just not right for us.
Apartment Therapy thinks a shelf is a great idea. I do too, but it’s still not quite right. I was starting to feel like Goldilocks, giggle.
I knew I wanted something beautiful, something that was still neutral. I found it! Well, actually, it found me! A little change made a big impact!

I love their wall murals / wallpaper. I really like this one. I think it’s the monochromatic coloring that I like. Still neutral, right?
Adding one of their posters is a great option too. I love this Calla Lily poster. It was my second choice.

Hi Pamela, thank you. Our daughter has a huge headboard too. She has a narrow sign above her bed,I can’t remember what it says but it’s about love. I’d love a new bedroom suite. We’ve had ours for over 20 years. Hugs!
These are great ideas, Katherine. My headboard is too high to put anything behind it but we are looking to get a new bed and I can’t wait to use some of these ideas to make my room feel cozy.
I have a big blank space above the head of my bed too! We moved here over 2 years ago, and it is still blank. Our bedroom is very neutral too, and I have been kind of stuck. I just love that print you have now! That’s a great idea for me to consider. xo

I was “ afraid” to open post when you wrote about “space above bed”. I was thinking along the line of tacky 1970s mirrored ceiling. Laughs on me. Your ideas are much better

Hi Katherine -I have been struggling for 3 years as to what to put over my bed. I don’t like the shelf idea, or sculpture, etc. I love the Graceful Majesty print. I also love monochromatic/grey, etc. I love love love the print over your bed.
