Front Door Refresh
Dear friends, I’m sharing a DIY today. But first I’d like to mention that it’s snowing right now! Okay onward…Your front door is a great place to give your home a little refresh. We made a simple change to our front door last year that morphed into a lovely way to greet those who come to our home.
But first the before photo.
The biggest challenge for me was a piece of wood in place of the door so we could remove it.
I picked this lovely blue color by Valspar, Palisades Blue Satin exterior paint from Lowe’s and I think it’s perfect. After cleaning and prepping the door we painted it with two coats of paint and let it dry for 48 hours. We also repainted the door trim in white.
So there it is a new blue door…
Well ( if you give a mouse a cookie) then I thought a new welcome mat was in order, and I like the layered mat combination so we found the welcome mat at Walmart and the striped mat came from Amazon.
I’ve always been fond of the swirly awesomeness that is a topiary. So we bought two from Amazon. I found these wonderful white planter pots at Lowe’s. I decided to give my faux topiaries a bit of a natural appearance by potting them. I filled the bottom of the pots with gravel, added the topiaries and some fresh potting soil and tadaa!
I intend to add some updated photos to this post when it’s actually spring outside (smile). You know what they say,” April showers snow bring may flowers”?
What color is your front door? Do you have any plans to change the color?
