  1. Katherine, your tray is gorgeous! I love how the lavender goes so perfectly – it’s the perfect accent color for your tray. I love all of the memories in your tray too. xo

  2. Katherine, I learned so much about you reading this post! I had no idea you once lived in Puerto Rico! How wonderful to have treasures from the time you spent there! Thank you, as always for hosting this lovely hop! Such a great idea for summertime! I have collected shells on the beaches here in Florida, but not nearly so beautiful as that big clam shell! I love bringing out the coastal elements for summertime, and this was such a great occasion to share them! Thanks again dear friend and have a great summer!

    1. Thank you and thank you for joining in the fun my friend. Yes, I have been very fortunate to have lived in many countries. I wish I had all of the seashells from my time living in Turkey. I had buckets full! I found some wonderful shells in Florida on Saint Augustine island, but I gave them to a group of children who were searching for shells too. It is my dream to live in a little cottage by the water, so in the meantime it’s always fun to daydream. Wishing you a happy healthy summer xo

  3. Katherine, I love how your tray items spilled over each side. It really showcases the bounty of the sea and spotlights so many different types of shells. And I love your use of lavenders — I’ve seen many seaside sunsets that incorporate lots of purple shades Your seagull is the perfect focal point!
In addition, I wanted to thank you for spearheading another imaginative tray blog tour. They have been so much fun to view and participate in!

    1. You are so kind and forgiving too. I don’t know why I keep putting come to dinner at eight as your blog title. I love the color lavender, I’ve always said purple is my favorite color. But it’s really drifted like the tides ( pun intended) to mean the pale purple, lavender that I really like the most. I’m happy you participate in the tours, I think it’s a nice balance between a tablescape and a centerpiece or vignette. Your tray was lovely. Big Hugs!

  4. This is a lovely mix of colors. And the seashell from Puerto Rico. is a treasure you can pull out each summer. Thank you for putting this fun hop together, Katherine!

  5. hi Katherine! This is such a fun tour, thank you so much for hosting us! I love your seaside creation and the seagull is adorable, so perfect for the theme surrounded by seashells and the fishing float! I love the added flowers, a lovely pop of color that works so well with the shells and netting~ I think I hear waves breaking 🙂

  6. Your tray is just lovely Katherine! I would so love to find a conch shell on one of my beach strolls some day! I’m crazy about your seagull too. They make me so happy and I don’t even care if they steal my french fries as they often do on the wharf in San Francisco! Thanks so much for putting together the tour and for the inspiration your blog always brings me. Happy summer to you!

    1. Thank you Denise for participating and for your thoughtful comment. Seagulls are the state bird in Utah and they are everywhere! Yes they are french fry thieves, LOL .You can always find them hovering and wandering around the parking lots of fast food restaurants. They know someone will drop some fries or other yummies and they are quick to scoop them up. Happy summer to you too my friend. Hugs

  7. Katherine I love your tray. So great to hear some of your pieces were from when you lived in Puerto Rico; most of my pieces are from we lived in the Bahamas. I was only 5ish but I inherited my parent’s collection. I love them all. Anyway, thank you again for inspiring all of us and bringing us together. It’s a great blog tour. Happy first day of summer my sweet friend. XO- MaryJo

    1. I’ve never been to the Bahamas, but I know you must have some amazing shells in your collection. How nice to have happy memories attached to your inherited collection too. Thank you for joining in the fun. I look forward to our next tour xo
