Feeling Invisible

Hello friends, what do you do when it feels like God isn’t hearing your prayers? When the help or answers you seek don’t come? It’s understandable to feel invisible or unheard by God. You might feel lost or discouraged when you’re facing life’s challenges. It can also happen when you or a family member is dealing with a health crisis. And God doesn’t seem to be helping. Many faithful people at some point in their lives will feel this way. I can’t pinpoint the day I became invisible. But I can tell you that the feeling may even make you feel angry at God. It’s okay, He can take it. God loves us unconditionally.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

I often use the term, “in God’s time”. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:” – Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)

This verse reminds us that life has different phases. God’s work might unfold over time that is not necessarily “our time”. When it feels like God isn’t helping, it’s important to remember that your feelings are valid. God is still working, even if you can’t see it. Don’t give up!

Talking to trusted friends, family members, or spiritual leaders about your struggles can help a lot. Please continue to seek God’s guidance and support, even when things seem overwhelming. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV

I removed my invisibility cloak some time ago. But, I am perfectly imperfect and I have on occasion let it lay across my shoulders. But I will always continue to pray. Even when life gets overwhelming.

Merciful Lord, we come to you to ask You to alleviate our worry and sorrow with Your gentle love. Grant us the grace and strength to lay our burdens at Your feet. We place our worries in your hands. We place our sick under your care, and humbly ask that you restore health to those we love. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
