Rainy Day Sanctuary
The soft sound of rain against the windowpane this morning provides a gentle invitation to slow down. Today isn’t for rushing it’s a day for turning inward, for finding solace and comfort within. It’s about engaging your senses in ways that promote relaxation and contentment.
Do you have a place in your home that is intentionally used for cultivating an atmosphere that nurtures your well-being?

You might be surprised to know that for me it’s the dining area. I hesitate to call it a dining room because we have a “great room” floor plan. Kitchen flowing into dining area and then into the living room. But when I sit in the chair by the window, I keep the lights low. I smell the light scent of lavender from the kitchen *scentsy.
Our sense of smell is powerfully linked to our emotions. I feel tranquil. I allow my mind to wander as I watch the rain hit the windowpane. Of course, there is a cup of tea in my hand. (smile). I think a rainy day is the perfect time to indulge in comforting aromas. Enjoy soft floral scents or the smell of sandalwood or something baking.
Creating a rainy day sanctuary doesn’t have to be complicated. Gather a few small sensory details. Transform your home, or an area of your home, into a haven of comfort and peace.
It’s rare that I take time to nurture my inner self. But when I saw the rain I knew I would I find calm in the quiet beauty of a rainy morning.
What do you do?
*Scentsy is a brand name for fragrant warming tarts. I am not associated with, I’m a customer.
We’ve had a lot of rainy days lately.
My office is my sanctuary, especially once I am alone and playing my guitar, practicing for Sunday morning.
It sounds perfect my friend . Hugs!
