Our Christmas Home Tour 2013
Our Christmas Home Tour
I was reading in the living room and enjoying the twinkle of the Christmas tree lights when it occurred to me that I should take some time to share our home with you. I finished my tea and started snapping photos. Welcome to our Christmas home tour.
I have seen some incredible Christmas home tours throughout blog land over the past weeks. From quaint cottages to grand homes. They all have two things in common, they are all beautiful and they are all filled with the spirit of the season. With that in mind I give you our humble abode’s decked halls and assure you our home is filled with comfort and joy. ♥
oops…Izzy photo bombed this photo can you see his reflection in the mirror?
I added a bit of turquoise to the tree this year to match the turquoise cabinet I bought this summer. If you missed my touch of turquoise post you can see it here
Yes, I have a little Christmas on the palm tree too 🙂
Last week I shared our Christmas mantel you can see the post here and here’s a little peek in case you missed it.
This is our home dressed in all its Christmas happy. Sorry a few of the photos are a bit dark.
Please join me in the dining room. On the buffet you will find my collection of European Santas. A happy little group.
It has been several years since I added a new one to the group. This one was the only one left on the shelf at the local shop. I swear I heard him say “take me home”. How can you say no to Santa? I think he fits right in .
Our dining table serves as our wrapping station and card writing desk during the holidays. Do you send out holiday cards?
In the kitchen you will find our little kitchen tree. Next year I hope to add a few more ornaments. I am on the look out for tiny rolling pins if anyone has any shop suggestions.
This Santa mug reminds me of one my Mother made in her ceramics class when I was a young girl. When I saw this one I knew I had to have it.
All of these lovely little ladies are so cute in their baking outfits.
The kitchen windowsill has a bit of Christmas finery too. The pitcher is on my dollar tree tray. If you missed my dollar tree Christmas decor post you can find it here.
The little counter area in the kitchen has a bit of Christmas old and new. That cute Christmas mouse was a gift from my Mother. Something to remind me of my childhood.
In the family room we have the reason for the season. The beautiful nativity set my husband bought me several years ago.
I don’t have a a lot of decorations in here. As this is our snuggle up room. Loaded with blankets and throws to keep us cozy during movie nights and television viewing.
I did add a touch of Christmas to the family room bathroom too. 🙂
That’s our Christmas home tour. Not too much, just enough to say, ” Merry Christmas and God Bless Us Everyone”.
You can still join in the hop from yesterday, enter the giveaways and add your gingerbread goodies to the gingerbread house tour too.I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I will hopefully see you back here on Monday. I know it’s going to get quiet in blog land next week.
I got a bit behind on my blog reading, but I wanted to tell you your decor was beautiful! I just started a collection of European Santas myself this year, buying my first one trimmed out in white and gold brocade :). I also have a tree with lots of white. I LOVE your pops of turquoise that you have been adding to the decor. Such a cozy look you had at Christmas!
Your home is beautiful, great decorations! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas 🙂
what an absolutely beautiful Christmas home! Your tour is simply lovely and your home is beautiful. Wishing you a most beautiful & wonderful Christmas sweet Katherine and wishing you all the best in the New Year!
Mitzi, thank you and I wish you a very Happy holiday season filled with the joy of Christmas. Merry Christmas my friend xo
Dear Katherine, I loved your Christmas home tour. My mother took ceramics class too and I have a Christmas tree that she made. She picked the tree so she only had to paint the one color. The little lights on it add the color.
I love the little mouse too. My mother loved the little Christmas mouse too.
Your home is beautiful. It is reflecting the spirit of the season and all the love and care you put in to making it so warm.
Merry Christmas and a Happy and Blessed New Year. Catherine xo
Catherine, thank you for your lovely comment. I think I know that tree well, My mother made one too. She painted it white and there are little holes all over where the colored lights go and inside there is a light bulb to make them all glow! I think our Mothers were very much a like. We do have the same name, so it all seems to fit perfectly doesn’t it. Big hugs and Merry Christmas wishes

I love your new Santa, and I’m so glad that he wasn’t left all alone on the shelf! Thank you for sharing this with us today, and I wish you joy and happiness at Christmastime. Blessings from thisisme.

Absolutely stunning! I love your Santa collection. Merry Christmas……
Thank you Debbie, Merry Christmas!
I saw this post and said “Debbie if you want to see Katherine’s house – you need to go in and finish cleaning the carrots.” So with that inspiration or motivation – my carrots are clean 🙂 Sitting here sipping mint tea and enjoying your home. I think I had that Christmas santa cup when I was a child as well. Of course you needed the Santa – he is gorgeous. But I really like the idea of the mini tree in your kitchen – cute cute. Does it have battery lights or is there a plug behind the tree? Merry Christmas Katherine – thanks for once again making my day a little extra special.
Debbie, you are bright light. To think that viewing my blog post is a reward is such a beautiful thing to read I am honored and humbled. Your comment is my reward for sharing. I love that little Santa mug too. The kitchen tree does have a plug but fortunately I have peaty of outlets in the kitchen. My hubby turns it on when he comes home from work and then he turns the rest of the lights on ( Christmas tree, mantel and outside). I think he secretly likes that little kitchen Christmas tree as much as I do. Merry Christmas my friend xo
Thanks! Just as I imagined it – stunning.

I loved seeing your home all ready for Christmas.
I have a rolling pin ornament, I got from Sur le Table, but it is about 6″. I got it three years ago, also a whisk. Both would look cute on your little baking tree. I have a small tree with beverages. 🙂
Merry Christmas.
