Art Room Transformation-
My art room has been in a constant state of change for quite a while now. But…and here comes the good part, I can’t say that anymore! I am happy to share my Art Room Transformation with you today. I have also been invited by WeWork to share my art room transformation on their facebook, pinterest and twitter pages too. If you missed my previous art room post you can see it here It’s hard to admit, but I never really was fully invested in the whole shabby chic art room feel. I like clean lines and less nick knacks in my work space. But,I still like the shabby chic style and you can find plenty of shabby chic on my pinterest board .
Okay that being shared lets move on to my big transformation. A couple of months ago I made a full on commitment to transitioned from Shabby Chic to Purple Panache’. I am sure many of you have seen the “Where Bloggers Create” series throughout blog land. Well my sweet bloggy friends this is where I create. This is where I create all of the items for my online shops. Zen Spirit Malas and Keepsakes By Katherine and where I create crafts I share with you too.
As you enter the art room you are greeted by my angel wings. A quick scan around the room and you know straight away that I like purple. It has been my favorite color since I was young. I wrote a post about it here.
A big thank you to my sweet hubby who gave me shelves for my art room transformation and another chest of drawers for my birthday this year. Without his help building the chest and hanging the shelves this room would have had a whole different look, giggle. I believe your creative space should reflect who you are and include things that make you smile. It should be organized and comfortable, a crafty sanctuary ♥
I also know that not everyone is fortunate enough to have an entire room to call their own. I am very grateful to have my own space to work.
When our grandchildren stay over, our oldest granddaughter sleeps in here.
There are two matching chest of drawers . I use them to store my supplies and things I have for sale. Organized and out of sight.

I keep things I use regularly on the shelves in easy to reach canisters in all shapes and sizes.
The lazy Susan on my work table holds scissors, eye glasses and treats for Izzy. Yes those are cheerios, one of his favorite treats 🙂 I also have plenty of light, including under the shelf task lighting and a swing arm magnifying light as well.
You can see a few of the things that make me smile throughout my art space. The bronze statue of the dancer, a gift from a dear friend. A sweet plaque given to me by our grandchildren. A pretty pearl initial k that hangs from the mirror. Some lovely floral x ray prints by Albert Koetsier. A photo of the love of my life, overlooking one of our favorite places to visit. My adorable guardian angel grannies. Blanche in the beige peignoir snipped and curled away her earthly days at Blanche’s Beauty Boutique. Francine the soap opera lover. Would have been to heaven sooner. But, she needed to find out whether Lance’s ex wife was really his sister’s cousin’s first wife ,who had been kidnapped by pygmies. 🙂
I use a necklace I made a very long time ago as a curtain tie back. Another new uses for old things ♥
Behind these doors hidden out of sight are more of my supplies.The clock that hangs above is a gift from my sister. You can read about her HERE.
No room in our house would be complete without our sweet Izzy. He hangs out here when I am working and crafting.
One day in the future I will share our den, where I write my blog. Izzy’s couch is in there. If you missed it you can see it HERE.

I love your blog, your posts and your wonderfully positive attitude. I have followed you for several years and loved reading the About section of your life. It is also a dream of mine to live in a cottage by the water one day. I have looked at your art room and the photos of parts of your home. I would kill to have such a clean, well-organized and lovely home. I have been disabled since 2012 and my 26 year old son moved back home. He has cared for me, fixing my meals, etc., but is a horrible housekeeper and my house is a horrible looking mess. I fell again in 2014 and broke my right tibia/fibula in 7 places. After a month in the hospital and a surgical repair, as well as physical therapy I finally went home. I fell again and even though I thought I broke my right hip, I waited 20 days before going to the hospital. I had to have a hip replacement. Now, they aren’t sure if I will be able to ever have the right knee replacement. I knocked several of my front teeth out in both falls. I saw something about you falling. I hope you weren’t hurt too badly. It is amazing how much damage can happen to us during a small fall. I hope you are fine! Keep doing what you are doing because you have lots of loyal followers.

Love the ‘new’ room, I liked the prior version, too! I’m jealous of your closet feature. Working own my own, but have a LONG way to go. Allocating space in one room for four functions is SO overwhelming. LOL.
Everything looks great! I like shabby chic too, but not really in my own home. I like lines neat and clean too. 🙂
