Jessica’s Angel Story
Hello friends, today on the blog, it’s been a while since I shared an angel story. I’ve had several requests so I’m happy to share the story of Jessica’s angel with you today. It’s a lovely story for Christmas too.
Jessica, her family and friends looked forward to their visit to the live Nativity in their town square every Christmas eve. They would sing carols and go for ice cream afterwards. People would come from miles away to their sleepy little town for the beautiful reenactment of Christ’s birth. It was a long-standing tradition for so many people.
When Jessica went away to college, she was going to school in the day and working at a local hotel at night. She stayed connected to her family and friends. But missed several Christmas celebrations because of school and work obligations. When she couldn’t attend, her brother Thomas would record the live nativity and send it to her.
This year Jessica found herself falling a bit behind in some of her classes. Which is easy to do when you are working and going to school full time. So, she and her family and friends were all very disappointed to know she wouldn’t be home for Christmas.
Her roommate and most of her college friends were excited about the holiday break. While she would be picking up extra shifts at work and studying through the holiday to catch up on assignments that were late, or hadn’t been done at all.
There was a heavy snowstorm on Christmas eve and Jessica found herself scrambling to find rooms for guests who were “stranded” from the storm. She kept checking the time, because she didn’t want to miss Thomas’s video of the Christmas eve celebration.
The hotel manager knew Jessica walked to and from work and the storm was getting worse, so she sent Jessica home a bit early. As she walked back to the dorms, she enjoyed watching the snow as it flashed over the lights along the way. It felt magical and provided a well-lit path for her walk back to the dorms.
When she arrived, there were only a few lights on in the building and it was nearly empty inside. She heard Christmas music playing over the loud speakers and there were a few students laughing in the movie room. She found comfort in the warmth of the dorm and the sounds of Christmas music. She glanced at the clock on the wall and started counting the minutes until the video from Thomas would arrive.
Cozy and wrapped in the quilt her grandmother made, Jessica sipped a cup of hot cocoa as she waited for Thomas’s video. Her phone lit up and played the chicken dance song, (her brother’s ringtone). She couldn’t wait to watch the video.
But there was no video, just a message about forgetting his phone and an apology for not being able to send her the video this year. Jessica wrote back to say Merry Christmas and then turned to watch the snow fall outside her window. The sparkle of the snow under the lights was so vibrant.
She noticed a bright blue flash on the snow and looked up a bit to see if she could find the source. Then her room was flooded with blue light and she watched with amazement as a man in a long gown stood in front of her, then slowly walked towards her, soon he was sitting right next to her. Jessica wasn’t afraid, she felt loved and tears were soon falling onto her cheeks. As he touched her hand, she realized it was her grandfather who had passed away two years ago. He held her and told her all bout the nativity in very vivid detail. Then he stood up and kissed her on the cheek and the room went dark. A few seconds later the lights went on.

Thank you for sharing Jessica’s angel visit, Katherine! I’m definitely a believer in angels and their messages to us. May you feel the blessings of Christmas today and the whole year through!
Hello Kathy, thank you so much. I enjoy sharing my angel stories. I tried to focus only on angel stories( rebranding as Katherine’s Angels) a couple of years ago. But it just didn’t work. I will continue to sprinkle angel stories throughout the year. I’m happy you enjoyed it. Hugs!
